Golden Ticket

I was at the base today (Saturday) participating in a mass casualty exercise while Tabitha and Natalie stayed. I had dropped off grandparents Gowl at the airport before I went to base. The exercise went pretty well although I was hoping that my homegrown exercise inject would work but it didn't. The intent was to test our capability to draw lab samples at downtown hospitals.

While I was at work, the girls hung out at home and stayed in their PJ's. They apparently ended up watching the old school Gene Wilder version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It occurred to me when I was hearing the story again that it parallels Dante's Inferno. Of course, someone else had thought of that intertextuality already. I really like his explanation of the crossing of the chocolate river because I recall the Gene Wilder character being particularly hostile.

We're heading out to Greek tonight. Woo hoo!
